Moved to [info]unfunnybusiness since it really should have been up there to begin with, I'll put up the link once it's through the queue. Sorry about that. the post is here.

Did you mean to post this in unfunnybusiness?

(I'd comment on the content, but I'm stuck on 'Oh god'.)

I was very split between the two, but ended up going here because the attack was in reaction to him as a cartoonist and most of the response has been within comic circles (which just made me realize that I totally forgot to include a couple of links I'd planned to about the reaction in the comic world, which would have brought in the fandom side more). I might have veered the wrong way, but that was my reasoning.

From what I can tell, he draws editorial cartoons, not entertainment media. It's political violence first and foremost and, well, I really don't see the fandom connection, at all.

I've always seen political cartoons as a form of entertainment, politically-centered of course but using entertainment to get people thinking about issues. (But, thinking about it more, my view of them might be twisted by the fact that the comic page of my local newspaper growing up was nothing but political cartoons, so those were my "funnies" as a kid.)

But you're right, thinking about it more I did end end up swaying the wrong way. I'll email the mods and ask permission to move it.
