Men get tons of crap for wearing pink anything. I worked with a guy who often wore a pink shirt, and whenever he did, he would invariably get made fun of by multiple customers. Pink AND purple? That's actually massively flamboyant for a male, according to many many U.S. citizens.

Plus the sweater vest. Plus hairgel. Plus a tie. That guy would be gender policed into the ground where I live, and where I live is not particularly homophobic. You can be a gay man, but god forbid you care what you look like, that makes you ~girly~.
