It's the last part I can't get over. At the end of the day, AO3 is still just a fic archive, and they either let that poor person run herself ragged or pushed her to.
(For the record, I say this as someone who's spent a ridiculous amount of time writing and reading fic, and who's made meaningful relationships because of writing and reading fic. But at the end of the day, it's not worth pushing a person that hard.)
