SERIOUSLY. Taking care of a family member through any kind of serious illness is exhausting. Taking care of your partner through brain cancer which may kill him... That's not a "The next season of my TV series will be late" crisis. That's an "I'm putting my career on hold, check back in a couple of years" crisis. Any work he gets done for the next year-plus will be a gift and a heroic effort.
