I tire of the old "fanfiction with romance in it = people writing pornography about pretty people from TV!" saw. Not that our community doesn't produce great number of excellent pornographic pieces on a regular basis, many of which I read. But apparently there's no such thing as writing a legitimate story containing *gasp* relationships (sometimes with sex!) that is not pornography. Like, you know, The Great Gatsby. Howl's Moving Castle. Tale of Two Cities. Pride and Prejudice. Norwegian Wood. Pointless smut like that.
