This is what annoys me the most, too.
Also that oddly, a lot of the criticism about the project you hear elsewhere is, of course, focused on this being about POCs/LGBT characters. What about the poor white men? It's oppressing them by not being about them!
Really wish this had been a real project by really competent, non-asshole people. :/
