No, it's not really any better, especially because she opens with the general sentiment that "I don't find derp offensive and I went to special ed classes." It's great that she doesn't find it offensive, but people who aren't her do, and I wish people involved in this could figure that the fuck out (I refer to bronies, not you). There's been "well words are only offensive if you let them be; ANYTHING can be offensive!" as if that isn't the biggest line of bullshit in the world (gee, why do people get offended by racist/other -ism slurs?! They could just not be offended!) as well as "I don't find it offensive so therefore it isn't!" (except the world is populated by billions of people that aren't you, what a concept!). Just a sampling of views related to hers that have been spewed from all corners of the internet. I can take your word on that, and I get what it's like to have depression. I've had it for over half my life and I can understand the triggering reaction to seeing/hearing pretty much anything emotional. I'm sorry you're going through that and I can understand where you're coming from. I'm pretty upset by all of this which is why I reacted negatively right off to the link to a typical "save Derpy" thing. It's okay, I get what you mean. Apology accepted. I hope you feel better (in general). I've been there. Post a comment in response: |
