Lessons from bronies: Removing ableist stereotypes is intolerant!
Remember the backlash when an episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic portrayed fan-favorite Ditzy/"Derpy" as "humorously" mentally challenged? Well, the concerns were heard, and the voice changed!

Aaaaand now some bronies are crying "ruined FOREVER!". To the tune of "not liking our insensitivity is intolerant!"

So, everyone who can now watch the clip without cringeing, you're harshing someone's squee, and that's terrible.

Well, I liked her with the out of sync eyes, but I did not like her being insulted/mocked.

Remember when the bronies kept going on about how ponies had taught them how to love? Yeah.

In happier news, I found a torrent of the original cartoons! Complete with first comment by a brony demanding it get burned, but fuck 'em

A cartoon. Taught them how to love.

Bronies are so goddamn creepy! They're like ants crawling all over my skin, while fucking.

Peace, love, and tolerance I mean. Which isn't terribly better, given how little it stayed in their heads.

I remember being really into those as a kid. And the movie. And, like, everything to do with MLP, really.

the movie was in the torrent! ALL THREE! But the one with the Smooze is what I'm excited about because the one I had as a kid was taped off the tv and thanks to me screwing around has a clip about gorillas in the middle.

It's on demonoid, if you're interested.

I kind of love this image, though. DIY editing! With GORILLAS.

I have a feeling I know why the channel got switched. It happens right as the giant spider is crawling towards them on the web.

Me too! I had so many My Little Ponies.

And there were no creepy adult males around to fuck things up. Or internet even. (Not saying that all adult males who like MLP are creepy, but the loudest ones sure are.)

I still love them. The worst of all this is, it's beginning to put me off - well, at least put me of my G4 figures. I just don't want to think about bronies, you know?

Bronies taught me more about embarrassment by vague association that I've ever wanted to know. And that's even when I mostly stay out of the fandom.

(I couldn't get into the original cartoon? Is it because I tried to watch a horrible and cheap dubbed version or is it because it doesn't hold up when you don't have fond childhood memories of it?)

Hmm.

I'm not sure how much is fond childhood memories, because it has a lot in common with things I see and like now without any associations from before (Mostly old comics). But a horrible dub mixed with the sometimes shitty animation wouldn't help, I don't think!

They also talk about "coming out".

As in, telling others they like MLP.

Yes, really. They think it's a legitimate comparison. (and then turn around and bash gays, of course, but we evil, icky gays aren't people to love, apparently)

It's different! Gays are like women. Useless and stupid.

Sure, sometimes we/they* have things that are worth paying attention to, but those shows and comics are only validated if a straight man likes them.

Yep. Hence the term bronie.

They can't even handle being put into the same fan categorie as regular female MLP fans. No, gotta be a bronie.

Bash gays, but also pat themselves on the backs for being so progressive about loving wanking to lesbian ponies.

Actually, they bash lesbians at least as much as male homosexuals, if not more.
