Oh god that New Age crap I hate it so much it makes me want to punch them repeatedly. Oh what, that hurts? Well everyone decides how to think of things, so it's obviously your fault that you're in pain right now! And your broken nose is just a state of mind. You'd be much happier if you looked at things from another perspective. But I love you anyway, despite all your many glaring flaws. What, you don't want me to hug you after punching you in the face? Oh, you have such issues, poor dear, you must be so sad and jealous not to be enlightened like me.

These same assholes like to say that my disability-related pain is because of something bad I did some time, because everyone gets what they deserve, and I could get over it if I would only "decide" to ARGH.

I saw a post linked by a friend (who I know was just being oblivious to the ableism because I pointed it out and she agreed and apologized) which was contained a quote from Lao Tzu about depression being caused living in the past and anxiety being caused by living in the future. A lot of people in the comments were agreeing with it. Fuck that shit. I have anxiety and depression because I have a MOOD disorder. It has nothing to do with my past life/lives.

I'm glad that none of my new age friends fit this mold or I would drop them like a hot brick.
