File this one under facepalm.

In the 60 Minutes interview, Eminem publicly wonders if he was/is criticized for his hateful, offensive language because he's white. He also isn't homophobic.

Relevant aside: he wrote a song called "White America" about how he knows he owes his popularity to being white.

Naturally, it doesn't take long for fans to show up at the Huffington Post article explaining that he's totally not homophobic, and he is targeted because he's white.

There are an awful lot of people whining about the victimisation of white men lately.

White men are always the ones we're supposed to identify with. Therefore ANY pain they feel or problems they have are more important and more valid than anyone else's. The rest of us are just "others" who should be thankful for any crumbs they throw our way.

No kidding.

Opinion posts from newspapers seem to be full of commenters going "oh, someone else is blaming white men for all the troubles of the world!"

At least, any post about feminism, women's choices, sexism and sexual harassment, rape culture, and proactive equality...

Come to think of it, my Intersectionality class has been surprisingly free of that phenomenon.

Thank Cthulhu for that! My women's studies classes in college featured an awful lot of mansplaining.

My women's studies class didn't, butI was in one class that did. There was this conservative guy who defended birther conspiracies on the second day of class and managed to go downhill from there.
