File this one under facepalm.

In the 60 Minutes interview, Eminem publicly wonders if he was/is criticized for his hateful, offensive language because he's white. He also isn't homophobic.

Relevant aside: he wrote a song called "White America" about how he knows he owes his popularity to being white.

Naturally, it doesn't take long for fans to show up at the Huffington Post article explaining that he's totally not homophobic, and he is targeted because he's white.

I have never seen anyone be heterosexist without being misogynistic. Eminem is really strongly both, but since misogyny is so normalized, people are a bit more likely to shrug it off.

I've never seen someone being heterosexist without being both misogynistic and homophobic. All three are extremely closely linked together and go back to the same root cause - Expected gnder performance, or lack thereof.

Definitely. Which means, when you really examine what they're saying closely, there's misandry in there too. Trying to shove everyone into Stepford boxes means hating on all real people.

Wait, I thought heterosexist was a simile for homophobic? Oh, god, I can't keep up @_@

If I understand correctly, heterosexism is the assumption that hetero is normal (often paired with the tendency to forget that queer people exist); whereas homophobia is the fear and hatred of queer people.
