Re: WTF?
The icon in question comes from a scene in the Britcom Blackadder Goes Forth; the titular antihero, a captain in the British Army on the Western Front of World War I, has devoted the series to doing his damnedest to scheme, con, and connive himself out of harm's way. In the series finale, Blackadder gets a phone call from HQ ordering a straight-on assault at dawn; realizing that this course of action is likely to mean certain death, Blackadder attempts to feign insanity by wearing his underpants on his head, sticking pencils up his and wibbling gibberish. His plan is thwarted when his superior, General Melchett, arrives to see what is happening and remarks that he shot an entire platoon that used this exact method; Blackadder overhears and narrowly escapes Melchett's punishment by pretending that he is relating the story to his aide.

Blackadder has one hope left of avoiding his fate: he calls to seek the advice of Field Marshal Douglas Haig, who has (grudgingly) owed him a favor. Haig snaps, "Play mad: put your drawers on your head and stick pencils up your nose!" and hangs up, with the clear implication that he never wants to hear from Blackadder again--leaving the latter with the realization that he's reached the bottom of his bag of tricks, and that his Narrative Immunity Card has been revoked.

(Blackadder and his comrades accordingly carry out the assault, and meet with the usual fate of soldiers sent over the top; the battlefield scene fades out and segues into a field of poppies.)
