I don't particularly want to defend John Travolta here because ugh, Scientology, but there were three men who accused him, and the first case was dropped because the man (a masseur in LA) claimed he was assaulted on a date that Travolta wasn't in LA but was in NYC, and there doesn't seem to have been a settlement at all on that.

The second case, the man (a masseur in Atlanta) turned down a cash settlement and withdrew his case, after the first case was dropped.

The third case (the cruise worker, but not a masseur) was dropped recently, and both parties agreed to drop it - there may have been a settlement, but I can't find anything where anyone refers to it.

So, yeah, I'm hardly a Travolta advocate, but it's not exactly as clear-cut as you are making it sound.
