Or picked any of other of thousands of popular scifi novels that aren't connected to outspoken homophobes to adapt into movies. There are far too few Octavia Butler movies, they could start there.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves! From what I understand, this Octavia Butler character is both black and a woman; that might almost be considered progress. I'm sure there are plenty of white men whose books they could still get around to developing into movies. In fact, I hear that Asimov fellow's books are quite popular; perhaps we could make one of those into a film?

...I think I just threw up a little in my mouth from writing that. Excuse me. (And yes, the choice of Asimov as an example was deliberate. Seriously, barf.)
