Sodomquake is best known to WTNV fans as the co-writer of "Summer Reading Program", the episode that introduced fan-favorite character Tamika Flynn. She is also known among Persona 4 fans as the writer of "Sympathy Crime", a fanfic that features rape. Tumblr user teethforlunch points this out, and is quite critical about Sodomquake being a writer of "underage rape porn".

Then Persona fans who've read the fic speak up, pointing out the fic is victim-focused and doesn't fetishize rape at all

Sodomquake's tumblr is now password protected. ~~Teethforlunch has gutted their blog~~. (CORRECTION: Tumblr support actually did their job, teethforlunch's account was deleted, and a friend of sodomquake's has taken the URL to prevent them from getting it back) Cecilbaldwin-fan, the fan blogger that popularized the original post, has expressed her remorse over the matter. The creators of Night Vale are not happy, and Cecil Baldwin has decided to take a break from social media.

So, um...do your research, kids.

	It's stuff like this that makes me want to quit tumblr entirely. This...culture, it's vile and toxic and what's worse is that it prioritizes 'rightness' so mcuh that utter slimeballs can sneak through and do anything they want as long as they hang that SJ veneer there. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	It's oozed into other places too. Not so long ago, the internet was toxic because it took nothing seriously and nothing was sacred, and bullies used that to their advantage. Now, it's toxic because it takes everything too seriously and everything is sacred, and bullies use that to their advantage. I think I'm past hoping we'll reach some kind of reasonable state. I'm glad that at least this is making some people call out the witch-hunting jackassery side of tumblr, especially when it's people who admit that they've always been afraid to call out this type of behavior lest it turn on them finding the bravery to say 'Stop acting like assholes!' now that they know they're not alone in feeling that way. Hopefully that aspect of this clusterfuck keeps spreading, because damn but it's a message some sides of tumblr could stand to hear.
