	It also makes the outrage easily led, as in this case. Tumblr's particularly bad for it since a bad story can spread like reblogged wildfire without people looking at other comments about it (corrections, or even edits of the original posts). (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Tumblr has also apparently decided that ravishment fantasies are the most evilest of evils -- and not just Tumblr. This is why I won't even go into anything that calls itself a feminist safe space any longer unless I or someone I know personally controls it. I have no idea how "feminist safe space" transmuted into "place where we scream at women (many of them victims of sexual abuse) for their sexual fantasies," but it disgusts me.

AND THIS WASN'T EVEN A RAVISHMENT FANTASY. Like, what, if we don't grapple with rape it will go away? What was the goal here? Just to yell and scream and feel self-righteous? Ugh, I am so frustrated.

I tell myself that these are the same awful people that were being awful about shit before, they just are co-oping feminist and SJ language so they can be awful AND get all the asspats. I've found the people rabidly attacking and bullying people out of fandom spaces are really in no way feminist nor do they give a shit for anyone that isn't them or one of their friends.

	I was kept awake the other night wondering whether many of these people are government-hired agent provocateurs, like those who stank up the left wing in the 60s and 70s. 	A lot of them are trolls or bullies using SJ as a front to make people do what they want. See also Riley/smallblackangel/shitwhitepplsay and their cult of personality that ran off a 16 year old with rape and death threats. A large fandom I'm in ran a popular fanartist off Tumblr last month because having top/bottom preference in her ship meant she's homophobic, apparently. It's pretty common to get anon hate in this fandom but the sheer volume she was getting was awful. Then after she came back a couple weeks later, someone immediately started circulating another hate post about her.

It reminds me a bit of when Aja could run people off fandom (I'm still bitter over that one time with Hikaru no Go). But back then you had to be a BNF to make it take off, whereas now anyone can start a hatepost and it just needs to get picked up by a BNF blog and suddenly five thousand people all hate your guts. I live in fear of having one of my posts get big because the last couple of times, getting big = hate mail.

One of the problems with tumblr, or at least hateful people on tumblr, is that they don't seem to ever let go of anything. I mean eventually it's time to say "You know, I still don't like ___ but I'm going to go hang out with other people who don't like it and stop bothering this one particular person." But no one on tumblr seems to know how to do that. It's like beating a dead horse is a major sport.

	It's partially because of how these things circulate. Even after an incident's cooled down, the post will still have legs and will reach more and more people who feel that they need to go rage about it without bothering to see what's actually going on back at the source. A perfect non-anger example of how tumblr gets shit wrong is this post by a user called Yamino, of her golden satin mice. It says in the original post that they're her mice. Almost every new text added to the post is how they're definitely rats and how the people calling them mice are wrong because reasons.

She's reblogged the post multiple times to go 'they're mice. I know they're mice. They're my mice. I bred them' and if you look at it now, most of the text you'll see in the reblogs is about them being rats.

	Every so often I go on a culling of people on my dash who mindlessly reblog things of rage and "calling out". I don't think they even give it more than the time that it takes to hit the reblog button, or have the anger that the post presents. They see the right words and just push it along. 	They do get a lil' shrieky. That said, I don't think you're automatically owed total acceptance for 'ravishment fantasies' as Evakernia was saying, which was what I was getting at. 	Maybe not, but what goes on in someone's head is hardly something that can be regulated in any meaningful way, unless we want to go all 1984esque. Well yeah, it's just a fantasy, not an act. What I'm saying is when it's something as extreme as that, you can't expect everyone, especially in what they consider a safe space, to go 'how wonderful!'

Like I said, you're not a bad person for having it. But just because it's something important to you doesn't mean it doesn't effect other people when you bust it out.

Your example is so basic it's light years away from the concept of a rape fantasy.
