On the plus side, I now kind of want to read this book. And by "read" I mean "buy just to spite the racist/biphobic TV adaptation people". But it also sounds interesting.

The words "(live action) film adaptation" fill me with terror these days. I'm still cringing over the TV adaptation that's supposedly in the works for Laurence Yep's The Tiger's Apprentice, and I read about that weeks ago and know it has a snowball's chance in hell of actually making it through the production process. It's sad because I'm know the medium can be well used in retelling stories, and I've even seen a few cases where it was, but I'm so used to the other extreme now....
