Given what's been done to the book so far, I think she's probably at a point where she's praying the thing will die in development. Which, again, is a strange prayer for a writer to have, but there you are.

Moral of the story--if somebody offers to adapt your book for television, get every single damn thing in writing instead of assuming that because the nice people said they'd do something over the phone that they'll actually do it.
