I remember reading about this on a friend's LJ a little while ago, and now...
Seriously, I'm not a HP fan by any stretch of the imagination, though I did read the books, particularly the first four, very thoroughly, and I have one question for these people:
What copy of the book are you reading? Not the same as mine.
It is very, very fucking clear Lily's sacrifice saved Harry. Dumbledore *says it* directly to Harry. It's the reason why Harry has to live with his aunt and uncle, it's what kept him safe until he was of age.
I'm not even going to get into the unbelievably stupidity that are the second half of those posts.
