I'm always stunned by just how much people can read into what is, let's face it, minimal information about any character that died before the series began. Sure, we do know that James was a bully, via what's essentially a home movie from one of his victims. But the text says next to nothing about how he treated other students, if he eventually grew up and came to regret his childish behavior, etc. And we know far, far less about Lily, and yet people argue in apparently all seriousness (with OFFENSIVE COMPARISONS to the VILE DEATHS of ACTUAL PEOPLE) about the minute details of her personality. Where do people get this stuff?
