Yeah, that fits with the theme of trying to twist every single positive event in the series so that it becomes the direct result of Snape's "selfless" actions. Which seems to be a popular activity, among less grounded Snape fans.
I mean, I don't know how the books could possibly have been clearer about the fact that the "protective spell" that saves Harry a number of times is the outcome of Lily's sacrifice. A sacrifice that was made out of love. And that's why Harry is ultimately "greater" than Voldemort. Because he understands love. This... I mean, jeez, the books went over this multiple times. It was a major theme in the series.
