I don't think "Fandom Wank" is "too much." When I say Fandom Wank, I mean the Wank and unfunny communities on JF. And do you know part of the reason WHY I hang out here? Because it educates me. Because it shows me what public figures are doing something offensive, what directors or producers are supporting things I don't agree with, so that I can boycott these things and not support the hateful ideas behind them. Because it teaches me about privilege, and help me check my privilege, and be a better person. Because just the other day, I learned that I can't use "lame" because it's ablist language.

I don't think it's "too much" to do everything in my power to be a better and more accepting person. I've been hurt in life. I've been called sexist, ablist, racist, ageist, homophobic names. If I can do my absolute BEST to NOT share this pain with others, then that's just what I will do.

And I'm also posting this comment to _dahne_ because I think she needs to know.
