Sadly, a lot of people believe that they will get dogpiled just for saying something hurtful even if they didn't mean it.
This clearly is because people calling them on it are meanies, and couldn't possibly have anything to do with their supposed apology being obviously fake. Clearly.
The sheer number of buttons they're pushing that have nothing to do with the subject kind of makes me wonder if they're actually looking at their newly-stuffed inbox and rubbing one out over there.
Some people really are petty enough to use something like that for some ego stroking. I...kinda would think of her even less, because that'd mean she'd know that the stuff she wrote was terrible, and did it anyway, just for kicks.
