The second line of your comment makes it very difficult to reply. You disagree with my comment, then immediately say that you don't disagree... because you don't want anyone to argue with you? (Honestly, I'm a bit confused by the statement. If that's not what you meant, please correct me.)

I assure you that my immediate reaction is not to back you into a corner or try and shout you down. But really, if you can't talk right you shouldn't talk at all that isn't what I meant, or even what I said. That would be a very broad, vague statement and could mean any number of disagreeable things. I referred, very specifically, to people who use words like "retarded", "lame", or "bitch" as put-downs. People who throw around slurs and dehumanizing language. I don't think that's worth defending. Unless your ideas are inherently offensive, there should be a way to express them without using such terms. And if you (general "you") honestly don't feel like you can speak without using those kind of words, then yeah, I think maybe you should sit this one out until you can think of a less hurtful way to express yourself.
