Penny Arcade says, "Rape culture is hilarious!"
Has anyone else been following the Penny Arcade Dickwolf Controversy (as I've taken to calling it)? The whole thing started with this comic, posted in August, which many readers took offense to due to an unfunny rape joke. The argument was revived with new fervor recently, and it's still ongoing. Personally, I'm finding it really difficult to enjoy the comic lately, because of the way this whole thing has been handled.

I literally had to walk away from the computer and go into a different room to compose myself after that person told a rape survivor to go get raped again. The whole thing was really gross but that... I don't even know.

I'm kind of a lurker so I wasn't sure if I should draw attention to that thread and all of its horrible content, but I figured if I could stumble into that post, other people might do so as well and maybe they would want a bit of a warning as to what they will encounter there.

	Even her phrasing there makes me see red. "Rape happens". Like it's a tornado or something, it just "happens". No. Rapists rape people, and rape culture encourages them to do so. 	Of course rape victims are the real problem and they should just learn to "stfu" about their experiences. Nobody wants to hear about that shit and they need to stop being so damn whiny. NO1CUR (or whatever). Yes, I'm paraphrasing their words (except for the STFU part which is a direct quote), but I don't think I'm exaggerating. (Reply to this)(Parent)
