The Wonder Woman trainwreck keeps on keeping on

It's a dark time in the DC universe. The Wonder Woman title is still stuck in some kind of inexplicable AU timeline where Diana finally got to wear pants, in exchange for not being actually heroic or effective or competent or anything.

How the main universe and nu!Wondy are even supposed to make sense together (since Wondy Classic has been MIA since this started) has so far stayed a vague, wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey open question. And as such a pivotal turning point for Wonder Woman the character *and* the mythos, of course somebody decided that it would best to reveal such a crucial part of her superhero origin in Superman's book and make it all. About. Him. (See exhibits A, B, C, D, E, and F for Why This Is Stupid And Sexist As Hell.)

Naturally, jlbarnett, limitless source of the unfunny, is just plain oblivious to logic as well as patronizing, spawning a long thread about the nature of the phrase "calm down." Apparently being angry with sexism is the real oppression at work here. Who knew?

Eventually they're just going to put Frank Miller in charge of everything and all female characters will be either Evil Whores (who have their own agenda and don't take direction from a man) or Good Whores (who listen to what men say, bone the ugly dude because they can see his inner beauty, and are also ninjas).

Then they'll go "Obviously we're writing for the dude market, because women don't read comics!"
