Holy crap, that the_shard person just won't stop.
People who say things like "oh, everyone dies at some point, what makes this kid special" make me stabby. If you can't handle a terminally-ill child being treated with kindness, there's something seriously wrong with you.
Although I did enjoy this off-topic exchange:

I do need someone to talk to. Nice people who commonly do good things for others have a tough time convincing the opposite sex that we can be "a**hole" enough to be a proper protector and provider for them. Alas, I sit alone at home this morning longing for any conversation I can get.

You do realize that the only men who whine about women only dating a**holes are a**holes themselves, right? Because most women figured this out a long time ago.
