Cheezburgers, Contessas, and Cancer
So there is this child who has cancer, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation tried to fulfill his wish to cook with Ina Garten. She turned him down, for scheduling reasons?

(my html is not kicking in today, so I apologize now for the ugly links)

This is sad. This is not the wank.

Enter the Cheezburger network. These are the guys who bring us new doses of LOLcats on a daily basis, as well as many other entertaining things. One of these other things is The Daily What (TDW). They bring all sorts of stories from around the web and usually everyone reads, is amused and moves on. But not when this story hits.

And here is the wank.

There is not any waiting. By the second entry we have someone being called a douche. Then there are claims of privileged sick children trying to bully poor innocent celebrities.
Further down there is an exchange between "Me" (not "me") and "Mixmaster" which brings up rape out of the blue.
"The Shard" enters the fray. Keep track of him - he will be back.
Oh the humanity!

But wait, we have a happy follow-up. It appears that two other chefs have jumped in to spend time with the child.

Happiness!
Let's post this update to TDW and all will be better.

or not.
How could anyone dare to think that the child would appreciate the kindness of someone other than Ms. Garten? "The Shard" would not approve.
And of course these other chef's are just doing it for the publicity.
Somehow, feeding the world's hungry becomes an issue.

If there are any more updates on this, I am sure that more wank will ensue...

(this was moved from another comm, because it really wasn't appropriate there. I am not sure why I thought it would be. Still working out the lapse in judgement that I had there. Also edited slightly to remove some poor wording on my part. Really, yesterday was not my best posting day, but perhaps today shall be an improvement.)

No, I think you shouldn't post recipes in the [info]otf_wank post. I think you did a good enough job of apologizing to and abasing yourself before the annoyed readers as it is.
