I know I'm late to the party and all but this guy's whole attitude just bothers me. I'm living in a city suffering through a similar disaster (though on a much smaller scale) and even at a smaller level and after a (slightly) longer time my adrenalin fight/flight reaction is triggered when a truck drives past the house and I can be literally stressed and wound up for ages. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma the Japanese people must be suffering and for him to be so dismissive just really infuriates me. The apology doesn't do much to dispel the bad feelings I have about him, either - it's so 'but you just don't understaaaaand me, I'm a good guy really' which doesn't do much to help.
