darksumomo ([info]darksumomo) wrote in [info]unfunny_fandom,
I bring additional wank and unfunny from rec.arts.anime.misc on Usenet regarding this subject. A fellow who goes by the nym of Starcade (yes, that Starcade, which by itself makes this unfunny), has been haranging the anime fans on that group about the evils of piracy and how fandom has been destroying the anime industry for three years now. The suit, 4Kids' bankruptcy, and the subsequent sale of Funimation has given him a convenient club with which to pound home his point. Here he first calls attention to the lawsuit and here he brings up the bankruptcy. In the first thread, he says that Funimation has no buyer. When Funimation is sold, thus proving him wrong, he manages to turn lemons into lemonade by noting that it was bought back by the person who sold it at one-fifth the company sold for a few years ago. "I was wrong, but it turns out I was right all along!"
