this here, so unfunny, and rage inducing

This here, really makes me, very, very, very angry.

Photographs of alleged prisoner abuse which Barack Obama is attempting to censor include images of apparent rape and sexual abuse, it has emerged.

At least one picture shows an American soldier apparently raping a female prisoner while another is said to show a male translator raping a male detainee.

Further photographs are said to depict sexual assaults on prisoners with objects including a truncheon, wire and a phosphorescent tube

Source (with the entire article)

(insert personal rant) I don't understand this, I just...my brain cannot comprehend, how, in this day and age, a modern democracy with modern social values would allow this to happen in their armed forces.  It just blow my mind.

This is not how a modern military should work, they are there to protect and defend their country, not to go around and do ...these things.

Ohgodohgod. The third to last paragraph makes me want to hurl. Also to do some vigilante justice.

This is why I'm a misanthrope. THIS is why I hate people.

Okay, something I don't understand. Why did they take pictures of all of this? I really, really don't get that.

They're working in an environment where it was so accepted that they believed no one would care and that their superiors wouldn't find anything wrong with it.

This. And apparently they were at least partially correct.

Yeah, I don't get that either. But like the comment above, maybe they just thought everyone would be fine with it. I can't help wondering how much more was going on that we don't even know about, if this is just the stuff we have pictures of. It's vile.

This doesn't just happen in this situation, bright sparks have been taking all types of pictures in these day and age - of their crimes. Just think of the teenage boys who posted their torment of a cat on youtube.

One good thing about it, it makes it harder to hide these crimes.

Oh god, I'd forgotten about that video.

Horrible people: almost universally not bright.

I'm afraid to ask...is this Zippocat, or something else perpetrated by a different batch of young psychos?

Pick up and watch this documentary if you have a chance (and a strong stomach.)
