STAY CLASSY, PETA.
George Tiller shooting prompts PETA ad campaign in Wichita

A national animal rights group plans to erect billboards in Wichita urging people on both sides of the abortion debate to go vegetarian.

One version of the billboard says, "Pro-Life? Go Vegetarian." The other says, "Pro-Choice? Choose Vegetarian." Both feature a photo of three baby chicks.
[pictures are in the article]

-----

"While our hearts go out to the family and friends of George Tiller, we are hoping that these billboards will make those who are rightly shocked by his murder sit up and realize that behind closed doors, millions of animals are suffering every day, and that we as individuals can help to reduce the amount of violence and suffering in the world."

I dunno if this would work with the pro-lifers, they only count unborn babies. Most of them don't have a problem with executions, or war. So why would they care about animals?

After all, if they can get pro-choice and pro-life supporters to agree that PETA are a bunch of dicks, perhaps not all hope in America is lost, after all.

... I cannot parse how the tragedy of this man's death can further PETA's agenda.

Then again, I keep trying Earth-logic, which, of course cannot apply here. Shine on you fuckwits, shine on.

Everything that comes out of PETA only convinces me further that it's a creation of the animal products industry to make veg*ans and animal rights activists look ridiculous. It can't possibly be a genuine institution.

I feel bad, because commercial farming is bad and private farming is sooo expensive, but damnit if PETA makes me incapable of even considering eating less meat. Every time they do something I have to get a double cheeseburger to get the yuck off me.

As a vegetarian and animal rights supporter, both their actions and these comments make me sad. :( Don't eat meat just to get back at PETA! It's not the chickens' fault that they're such douchebags! I have pet chickens, so they're always the first thing I think of. ;_;

The pro-life thing doesn't even make sense, since pro-lifers only give a damn about fetuses. Everything else is fair game! I'm really just not getting how abortion and eating meat tie in at all. It's like they're not even trying to get support anymore.
