I made it to the list but it makes no sense whatsoever. Apparently same-sex partners can leave the marriage at any time, unlike opposite-sex partners who... um... I still don't get it.

From the comments:

To grant homosexuals the “right” to marry, is no different than allowing misantrophic anthropomorphic bestial marriage…

Is that a fancy way of saying you'll have to let someone marry their dog? Or is it something about furries? I just can't parse it.

The only thing I got from the list was that if same sex marriage is approved, droves of heterosexual men will abandon their wives and children for hot gay sex. Which, quite honestly, makes no sense because I've been pleading with my husband to have some hot gay sex for years now and he won't, so I'm not sure how same-sex marriage rights will change his mind (though if they do, I'm sticking to my guns on the demand that he record it).

...what the hell did any of that even mean? I couldn't understand a word of any of those "paragraphs." Like this one in particular:

That makes no sense at all. It's like these people have some idea that allow same-sex couples to marry suddenly makes marriage lose all the legal stuff it usually comes with, rather than all that legal stuff now also applying to two men or two women who love each other very much. You're not changing the status of marriage, you're allowing another group access to it.

And if gay marriage is really hurting all us hetero people, I sure can't see any signs of it here in Norway and we've had it a while. Huh. How odd. Our society has not imploded.

Hey, at least they didn't claim opposite marriage:

- Is really all about "the protection of females from rape, degradation, and concubinage." Furthermore, "protecting and controlling the sexuality of the child-bearing sex" is the "only true reason" for the existence of opposite marriage.
- Protects a society from incest and miscegenation.
- Ensures that "licit" sex between a couple is valued, "without social disapproval of unmarried sex--what kind of madman would seek marriage?"
- "Defines the end of childhood, sets a boundary between generations within the same family and between families, and establishes the rules in any given society for crossing those boundaries."

Surely you can understand how hard it is for men to preserve their wife's virginity and prevent our society from a rash of twincest.

It's all totally true.

In fact, when a gay couple in Massachusetts got married, my aunt and uncle had to split up. They won't get to remarry each other until a gay couple divorces--and Aunt Mary's starting to wonder whether she wants to go back to Joe after all. Her oldest daughter's making noises about going to Boston and making eyes at cute married lesbians to speed up the process.

At least, that's why we think she's talking about going to Boston and making eyes at lesbians.

So you see the horror that gay marriage wrought in one nice, normal Middle American family. Gay marriage must be stopped!

And I still fail to see how I, as a hetro female, am hurt by SSM. Seriously. I don't see it. Please, someone explain to me how I'm hurt by SSM. If a man is gay I don't want to marry him- unfair to him AND unfair to me. So- let the people marry who they want.

And to the concern I have actually HEARD voiced of, "Well, if it's okay to marry one of the same sex then I guess it's okay to start marrying trees or whatever- just as long as it feels right," is-

If someone is stupid enough to marry a tree then I count my blessing that they will never reproduce or be able to adopt within that relationship.

So, judging by about half of that list, apparently all men are raging homosexuals and the only thing between them and a lifetime of man-lust is gay marriage being illegal, so they have no choice but to stay married to women. Which I imagine wouldn't make for a very happy or stable marriage, but hey, at least it's *~heterosexual~* marriage, so that's cool. I mean, it's not like heterosexual men (and women, for that matter) ever walk out on their partners for other people of the opposite sex! That's just crazy talk! (Or do people do that because marriage is legal in general, in which case clearly we should just ban marriage. Look, I can speak crazy logic too!)
