Of course. I admit that I'm woefully behind on my Trollope reading--I've really only read Barchester Towers, which I enjoyed immensely. He's sort of fallen out of the canon, which means he's not taught even in grad-level courses. Since I do specialize in poetry, and poetry of the late Romantic/early Victorian period, at that, I got even less Trollope than some of my peers. I read him for my comps, which is more than I can say for Thackeray. (I mean, Vanity Fair was *on* my list...I just didn't bother to read it.) That book sounds like a rollicking good time. I definitely need to spend some quality time with Tony Trollope this summer. Once I finish writing about shit like consumption in poetry. Post a comment in response: |
