There's a bingo tile in here somewhere...
For those of you who are not familiar with Warcraft, I'm sure you can still deduce that it's not a good idea to throw around derogatory terms like 'fag' in a community that is largely comprised of women and/or gays. Right?

[info]lougara would not agree with you. Because it's perfectly ok to use such derogatory terms on a community with over 6000 people on it!

She does apologize, sort of. In a 'sorry but I'll still do it if I want to' sort of way. Also, she is bisexual so it's totally ok!

Then she leaves a happy little love note on her friends only page on her personal lj.

I don't use that word to make fun of homosexuals ... I-and people in my social group- use that word for someone who's whiny and bitchy.

I propose that we use the term "lougara" to describe people who are being raging self-righteous asshats. Not to make fun of lougara, of course -- just as a word. Because that totally makes sense.

Okay, one of my gay guy friends will call another of my gay guy friends "fag" when he's particularly irritated with him, but I would never presume to do the same. This isn't a particularly difficult concept.

I actually would have assumed you're Alliance from that. Because I play Alliance and OH GOD MAKE HIM GO AWAY. D: Can we get Bolvar back? Can we at least get the kid back? Please? Fuckit, I'll settle for Ony being in charge -- at least she wasn't starting wars with the Horde while we're still fighting the Legion and the Scourge and the fucking Defias are still being annoying and and and AUGH!

My very first time playing through Battle for the Undercity was on my night elf hunter. I was disgusted by Wrynn the entire mission, and at the end, when he attacked Thrall, I just threw up my hands and decided I was done. And I'm still trying to equate the awesomeness that is "Lo'Gosh" with the douchebaggery that is "King Varian Wrynn". My hunter went to live in the woods for a while.

I'm so changing factions the day they release that feature.

I totally get you. Varian actually looks even worse in comparison if you've done the Horde version, because you see the entirety of that Thrall/Sylvanas conversation before he bursts in and gets all self-righteous. Also, it gives you a little less sympathy for that "we're taking back Lordaeron!" horseshit he goes on about, having seen all the terrified Forsaken refugees living in camps in our version of phased!Orgrimmar.

I'm really not looking forward to doing BoUC on my priest, I tell you. He already has Opinions on Varian, and he's a Jaina fanboy. Watchin Assy McDouchebag dismiss Jaina's common sense advise may actually result in a strike or something. (RP servers: because this game isn't hard enough without encouraging your characters to rebel against you. Dammit.)

What gets me is the hypocrisy of it all. I mean, one of Wrynn's best friends is a blood elf for Christ's sake. Plus after reading even only the first part of Lo'Gosh's story, I can't believe Broll or Valeera would just stand back and let him make such a stupid decision as starting a new war while you're standing on the Lich King's porch. -.-

I'm very vocal in my dislike of the douche, buuuuuuuuuuuut I've also hated other characters in the past with a passion that's about level with what I feel for Varian atm. ...Which I've then taken as a sort of experiment in RPs and turned out to really like them. See icon.

So I'm starting to drift away from the actual game and am looking longlingly at the old style LJ rps. I almost kinda sorta want to grab a Varian.

If it makes you feel any better, pretty much everyone Horde side feels exactly the same way about Garrosh. What were you THINKING putting this douchebucket in charge, Thrall?!

My dream scenario is Varian and Garrosh getting into a fight and then falling off a cliff Looney Tunes-style. Then everyone wins!
