Another reason to hate the Heenes
(I am posting way too much, but this... this is really rage-inducing. Thus upsets me even more so than the racist Justice of the Peace, because of how horrible these parents are.)

So you guys have all heard about the "Balloon boy" thing, right? The weather balloon that got loose in the skies over Colorado and sparked a frantic scramble to save what they thought was a 6-year-old boy trapped inside it. Turns out it was all a hoax, the Colorado sheriffs are pursuing criminal charges, and more about these gloryhound parents are coming to the surface.

But the worst part, I think, is this video that was recently unearthed, that was made during the gloryhound family's days on reality shows. (I couldn't even finish the video, it made me so angry.)

Balloon Boy's Horrific 'Kill the Faggot' Music Video

As if you needed another reason to despise the family of "Balloon Boy" — which is looking at criminal charges thanks to their attempt at infamy — but this music video from the fame-seekers shows off how mom and dad taught their three sons what it means to be men. Namely, that you can't be "pussified." Yes, this family has their own music video from their Wife Swap days. And yes, it's filled with the F-word in a Buju Banton-style call for muder.

Queerty reader Jonathan told us he heard the three boys using the word in teh video. So we took a listen, and might have heard the word used around the 2:40 mark, but that's definitely them saying "faggot" at around 2:52 — as they reenact a gay bashing murder scene.

This family has quickly turned from potential victims to repugnant press whores.

I have no words for how badly I despise these people. And the news media that is feeding their sick, twisted sense of reality.

I have no doubt that this video's lyrics are vile, anti-gay and heterocentric. But other than some line about a "faggot in a tree," and a fart joke or two, I didn't understand anything the kids sang. Is there a transcript out there that you know of? Anyone? Bueller?

I've been trying to translate, but the kids mumble a lot. I did make out a line about "there's my momma and her big white ass," another line that goes "my name is Rio, I'd like to take a train/and run your ass over cuz I think you're a pain." The "faggot" line appears to be: "I looked in a tree, what did I see? I saw a big faggot trying to pee on me! So I picked up a rock, and hit him in the head." (At the word "head," the video shows the boys throwing a rock at a picture of a rooster held over the "faggot's" crotch, so it's pretty obvious what word was exchanged there).

And just to prove that comments always make news articles (and posts on large blogs) worse, we appear to have bonus racism in the Queerty link. Oh, PEOPLE.

Their Wife Swap was on Lifetime a day or two before the balloon incident. I don't watch Wife Swap normally, but I had Lifetime on and it came on, so I watched it for about ten minutes. The schtick was that they're dangerous storm chasers and they swapped with a family where the kids were afraid to even use the microwave because they thought it would give them cancer. The first thing one of the Heene's boys said to the visiting woman was "Sphincter says what?"

Aaaand that's when I turned it off. I remembered the kids had unusual names, though, so when my brother told me about the story I was struck with horror that I already knew who they were. I had no idea they'd end up being this repulsive, though. Ugh.

Yeah I pretty much determined they were tools from Wife Swap. I saw both episodes when they originally aired, and they were arguably the biggest famewhores I'd ever seen on the show (it's kind of a crack habit of mine). Considering some of the families who've been on there that is really saying something.

So, yeah, the minute they named the family while the incident was happening, I called bullshit.

It's a crack habit of mine too. I hate that show but I love it at the same time. I haven't seen their episode(s?) though, unfortunately.

I, sadly, saw them when they were on the first time. They creeped me out then and still do. Just the utter overly dramatic reactions. Good lord and mighty heaven they were obvious famewhores. There is absolutely no other word for them. I heard on...god, I hate to say this, The View that the parents met in acting class.

The video was pretty crass. Honestly, the reports that there was a 'domestic disturbance' at the Heene's place in February worries me more.

Apparently, the officers have repeatedly offered the wife shelter and assistance, and she's declined. Gah.

If there is domestic violence going on and the husband is like most violent jerks then he has her under a tight emotional lock and key as well. (Knows, cause I was theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere once upon a time.)

I... didn't even notice that in the articles I read; either it wasn't mentioned or it was just like a footnote. But now that I look again at other articles, yeah... the unfunny definitely extends beyond the homophobia and poor-taste pranks.

That's scary. I mean, I figured that the dad is something of a control-freak and a gloryhound, but I had no idea that things were so bad that the officers had offered the wife shelter and assistance and that she refused.

I managed to scrounge up one of the Wife Swap clip the other night and the wife he had been swapped with refused to give him meat. So he threw his sandwich at her, and then poured his milk onto her. A producer stepped in.

So yes, if he's that volatile to a complete stranger, in front of millions of viewers, imagine what he must be like behind closed doors.

Holy SHIT, really?

I have to wonder about Wife Swap--how well do they evaluate the homes to make sure that the women (since it's almost always women) aren't going into unsafe situations?

I think it went from "We're gonna be famous we're gonna be famous we're gonna get rich and live in a big house and we're gonna be famous" to "Ho shit, there are legal ramifications for pulling stupid stunts to get famous? Like felony charges and CPS taking away our kids?! But... but... that's not what years of consuming reality television told us! The worst that was supposed to happen was getting voted off the island!"

You stay classy, Heene family.

Of course I see this after reading the article about the family on the 2008 "Wife Swap" episode in which the producers mention this about Richard Heene: "Because their philosophies were so wildly different and also the scientist (Heene) dad has a very strained out attitude towards women. He sees that women after 25 are used up and not worth talking to.

So yeah, he's an asshole and his wife is definitely abused/ has low self esteem.

The video has been taken down by the user. That's okay. I wasn't sure watching small boys rap about hating gays was something I needed to watch this morning.

This family is a train wreck. No doubt, they are replacing the other train wreck, the Jon/Kate/what ever happened to the eight, train wreck.
