Because trolling sick people is fun!
[info]fibromyalgia is an lj community for people interested in and usually who suffer from fibromyalgia. [info]rake_blackguard makes post asking:

"So what does it say that a medication effective for the treatment of Fibromyalgia is an antidepressant?

Could it possibly be that Fibromyalgia is an ultimately psychosomatic disorder?"

People respond and OP responds to every comment with sunshine and joy. Or totally flamey sarcasm...

disclaimer: I was unsure where to put this because I did initially post on the thread before we knew it was a troll. Once s/h/it started reponding to every comment it was clearly flamebaiting. It is definitely unfunny to troll a bunch of sick people and tell them their illness is imaginary.

(I'm [info]imaginarycircus on the thread, in the interest of full disclosure.) Apologies if you think should be moved to [info]i_wank I'll move it.

ETA: bahleeted.

Such behaviour makes me very sad, as my mother's suffered from fibromyalgia for a long time (she's had arthritis since she was thirty, I don't know about the rest of the issues).

I have arthritis too. It sucks. But this dude is obviously just bored and not even a funny troll.

Looks like the entry was just deleted.

I can make a cap of the post and comments, but I don't think I have any of the full threads. Damnit.

I saved the html but I don't have anywhere to host it. I couldn't remember the site that caps the page and the comments.

YES BECAUSE A RANDOM LJ USER CAN TOTALLY CONVINCE ME THAT MY CONDITION IS NOT REAL.

Also: Baaaleeted. I am sad because I was just about to post more cat macros.

LOL. I so wish my pain was imaginary. I could also do with imaginary IBS and imaginary arthritis and I would really love my brain tumor to be imaginary. :D

(note: tumor is funny because it is small and innocuous and not the cancer.)

Oh, hey, I didn't know there was a comm for fibromyalgia! I'll have to join.

And I, for one, am grateful to that trolling jackass. Turns out that I had to give up Western riding due to imaginary pain caused by an imaginary ailment! Who knew?

Yes, there is. Sometimes there are interesting discussions but mainly it is just a way to talk to people who aren't going to say, "But you don't look sick."

Oh FFS. What a completely ass.

"Gosh, you're all pretending to suffer from debilitating pain, because having to explain it to people is so much fun!"

Yeah, my husband's Marfan's is all in his head, too, or so I get told by so-called doctors. Wish that meant we wouldn't have spent a couple thousand on narcotic painkillers last year. HA HA HA HA HA. HA HA HA HA HA. HA HA.

Grrrrr.

Oh that is horrible. Doctors make me so angry sometimes. Mine is not great and I am trying to switch to a new one but I have to wait two months to get a first time appointment. YAY?

I don't anything about your husband's condition, but have you tried acupuncture? It helps with my pain.

Some varieties of antidepressants have this weird side benefit of dealing with chronic nerve pain. At least, that's why I'm taking an antidepressant, though it's for another TMI condition that isn't fibro.

Cymbalta was originally used to relieve pain in diabetics, but it's now being marketed as an antidepressant. Does it never occur to people that medications that work on brain chemistry can have more than one effect?

Oh, hey, I had painful periods because I was mad at my dad!
I can't even explain the look I gave the doctor, when he told me that one.
(Weirdly, once they put me on the Pill, the pain diminished considerably. And yet, my father and I had the same relationship. Mysterious!)

Oh, for the love of... I just went through this nonsense with some cuntmuffin on one of the Childfree comms. WTF is up with the fibro-bashing all of a sudden? Really, I'd quite like for it to be all in my head and I could just wish and it would automagically get better. I could do these traveling and working outside of the home and going to see movies in theaters things, it would be good. No, I'd much rather sit at home, be in pain, and talk about it on the internet just so as I can oppress abled people with my existence.

Lesse, has he got the 'pharmacutical company conspiracy' line? ... Yep, there it is! Because no one has ever needed confirmation that a disease exists or needed encouragement to seek help. Obviously erection problems are a LIE.
