LJ Has Spoken About It's Recent Layoffs! LJ Makes an Official Announcement In Regards to the Changes at LJ HQ: News at ElevenAs always LJ responds back to the community to debunk all media rumours days AFTER it's already taken place. A bad business move on their part, but needless to say, the post was met with mixed reactions. Some sympathise with SUP, others are worried about the future of the site, its customers, and treatment of their US employees, and the rest blame the economy. [Edit]: Okay, perhaps it isn't SUP's intention is to sound chauvinistic, however I still feel that better wording would help clarify a few things, without coming off that way. A bunch of UNbelievable JERKS This is a little wank about a girl and a dating site. Girl joins OkCupid. Girl contacts boy. Boy agrees to meet girl. Boy is aloof and meeting doesn't go as planned. Girl goes home and drinks a bottle of wine. Someone texts someone. Girl goes to boy's apartment. Girl and boy share some drinks. Girl has sex with boy. Boy never calls girl again. Girl posts giant rant on OkCupid forums about how much of a jerk he is. Forum members WTF at her. Boy shows up and gives his side of the story. Social news sites become aware of the thread. Thread explodes. An Encyclopedia Dramatica (obviously NSFW) entry is written. Wank is had by all. There are a lot of anti-fat and other hateful comments (hence the unfunny), but that doesn't stop the girl (zxyz) from being truly delusional. And this wasn't her first bad experience with OkCupid. Previously, she conducted a little experiment where she replaced her own pictures with pictures of a "very attractive girl." She got quite a few more messages from more interesting men, including one who claimed to like her for her personality. She actually wanted to meet this guy, so she eventually replaced the fake pictures with real ones. He didn't respond as she'd hoped he would: So I wrote to him, told him the truth, even sent him a link to this thread. He responded with a short message, basically saying he wasn't comfortable with the situation, and wouldn't feel right meeting me after this. He said next time I should use my real pictures and not to deceive the next guy blah blah blah.
Okay, so I am full on heartbroken and feeling extremely jaded. This guy was actually deceieving me. He pretended to be a cool guy who cared mostly for personality when it turns out he was a tool like every other guy. And I hope he reads this, and even has the balls to respond, though I doubt it. I am furious right now, and all your jerk-off posts are what's pathetic. God, I hate that asshole, but at the same time, I love him.The hypocrisy eludes her. | | 9:07a |
How bout a morning dose of Unfunny? Sorry all, I'm in a foul mood and I'm taking you all down with me. In Parenting101 on LJ Digitalexx makes a post requesting help disciplining her 18 month old. The 18 month old rips her older sibling's book and is told to apologize. She 'refused' so she was put in time out. 18 month old apologizes twice to sibling but not to parents. The next day, she still isn't apologizing to her parents, so what does Digitalexx do? Why, refuse to nurse her and leave her in the car all alone of course!
