Altruistic Surrogacy Bill Passed In Queensland.

Long story short - all surrogacy was illegal for anyone in Queensland. This bill will allow not only heterosexual couples, but LGBT couples and single people access to altruistic surrogacy. Commercial(aka for-profit) surrogacy is still illegal.

I'm so thrilled that this bill was passed in its current form despite the rampant homophobia and deliberate ignorance displayed by some of the politicians who debated it. Its not the biggest step towards equality for LGBT people, but even a small advance is still an advance right?

Oh, and for the love of all that's holy, don't read the comments. While there's some common sense being spoken in there, there's also a lot of stuff that'll make you want to smack things.
