Led by the child who simply knew
Because unfunny doesn't have to mean bad.

Led by the child who simply knew

The twin boys were identical in every way but one. Wyatt was a girl to the core, and now lives as one, with the help of a brave, loving family and a path-breaking doctor’s care.

Wow. What a wonderful story. Thank you so much for sharing. Not all of it's wonderful and so much of it illustrates just how far we have to go but what a lucky girl to be born into a family like that. Her parents rock.

Having grown up in Orono, I'm kind of surprised she made it as long as she did before someone decided to make her life difficult. But it kind of makes sense - kids tend to accept things as normal until an adult tells them otherwise, so maybe it took that long to turn the boy into a homophobe.

I'm so glad she's got such a supportive family and that she's comfortable in her new community.

That's a beautiful and touching story and I'm so glad that Nicole has a family that can and will accept her for who she is.

I'm also glad that there aren't comments on the article. I'm not sure I could have handled it.

Aww, that's so awesome. They sound like a wonderful family, and I hope every city someday has a center like that.

The family is adorable, but... I am kind of icked out by the writing. Big dramatic reveals that rely on a crapload of misgendering language setup in order to make them big and dramatic is just... it's bugging me.

Yeah. I noticed that they kept switching pronouns about, but I think that they referred to Nicole as Wyatt and as a boy mostly when talking about her past. Still hella confusing and not entirely sensitive.

It was bugging me until the switch to female pronouns when describing the point when Nicole started using the name Nicole and presenting as female full-time and after. It's a bit over-dramatic and could be more sensitive, but it could be a lot worse. Nicole's family references her as female in quotes about her early childhood, so I would have taken the cue from them, but it may have made it clearer to the intended audience. May have.

There was a point where the author refers to trans* people as "transgenders," too, which was really gross.

Cleanness is not an abstract notion. When something is clean, it has no grime, no stains on and smells fresh. Anything else can be regarded as dirty. Your home is dirty when it hasn’t been cleaned for weeks and months. Some deep cleaning and carpet cleaning is all that you should do now. Rely on garden clearance London to make your yard a dream garden.
