Unfunny fandom business, for a change
In today's Fandom!Secrets post:

Secret 126: "I'll stop reading a novel if I find out it's written by a woman."

Secret 138: "Just because I dislike the large majority of female characters doesn't make me a sexist.".

I can safely admit I got over that stage of my fandom career by the time I was about 16. XD

I think the last time I actively hated a female character was because she was nothing more than a cardboard-cutout plot device who borderline stalked the male main character, and her only purpose in existing was to give him some half-elf babehs to set up the plot of the next book in the series. So... actually, I don't know if my dislike is directed more towards her or the authors who created her.

...Rant off. *cough*

I didn't bother reading through the comment threads (can't handle that much stupid today), so I don't know if it was specified somewhere that the secret-maker dislikes most female characters because of that fandom jealousy, or some other reason. Did that come out somewhere?

Suzine des Quivalin, from The Kinslayer Wars trilogy. Quite apart from the fact that she practically stalked Kith for much of the second novel, she was also a horrendous MarySue, right down to the fact that Kith fell in love with her pretty much at first sight.

No, no, you had every right to hate that... thing.

I would have too, and I look for excuses to find at least one cool female character to latch on in books (gender of the author I've never really cared about O__o).
