YES, this. In my fandom a guy who was onscreen for 30 seconds three years ago still has stories written about him, while the main female character barely merits a mention most of the time. Even though she's totally awesome and has pretty good story arcs for a female sci-fi lead.

And it's not precisely the same phenomenon, but if I have to read one more effing AU where every white character who ever had a speaking part is included but the two main characters who are played by black actors aren't (or are re-imagined as CATS) I will start enforcing die-in-a-fire rules, I swear.

Whoa, I thought that that fic had everyone re-imagined as cats (since this is the fandom with an AU where everyone was re-imagined as freaking house plants). But it was only those two who were turned into cats? Bleagh.

	Yup. There were only about five named characters in the whole story (vs. the ones that include every white character ever but not them), but still, that's totally unacceptable. (Reply to this)(Parent)
