If it were really about 'life', they'd show the same fervor when it came to war and the death penalty. . .and yet they don't.

This is why I respect the Catholic attitude on being pro-life. They are consistent across the board about preserving life, whether it be fetal or death-row inmate. I may disagree with them and I may think some of their other positions are awful, but I do respect them for having principles.
