Endangering somebody is okay when you do it under your real name
Picked from [info]wank_report.

In the beginning of the year, Seeking-Avalon posted an open letter to Elizabeth Bear aka [info]matociquala about the representations of people of color in fiction. After Bear's initially reasonable response, a wank broke up among her supporters and friends and lead to Writing The Other/Great Cultural Appropriation Debate of DOOM '09. One of the participants in the debate was [info]coffeeandink, who also posted a public warning about Will Shetterly, who is a general fail person.

Now, Shetterly and Kathryn Cramer have been actively trying to out [info]coffeeandink's real life identity, with Cramer making accusations about [info]coffeeandink hiding behind anonymity and Shetterly making speculations about [info]coffeeandink's personal life and background. [info]coffeeandink has posted about this in her journal.

Apparently, Shetterly and Cramer both backed off when warned. But now they expect apologies for that. ETA: Appeared to back off, actually. As told by [info]vito_excalibur, Shetterly is now banned from Feminist SF Wiki for his efforts to reveal [info]coffeeandink's name.

Update: Kathryn Cramer has now password-protected her entire blog. There are screenshots of her post about [info]coffeeandink here and here, with [info]coffeeandink's name removed. Earlier she redirected those who tried to access her blog to a site with possible malware.

Update 2: [info]greyorm is now intentionally outing [info]coffeeandink.

Update 3: Shetterly has opened his ignorant trap again.

Update 4: Cramer is back to demanding an apology.

Update 5: A new general summary by [info]rydra_wong. [info]arionhunter has made a post about Elizabeth Bear's reaction.

[info]rydra_wong has a link masterlist here and more posts in her race fail-tag. [info]coffeeandink has her own race fail-tag here. Seeking-Avalon has a timeline about the original racefail here.

And if you want some comic relief, [info]mtgat has Meta in Song.

Here's my favourite mac 'n' cheese recipe. It's by Amanda Hesser, and was originally published in the NY Times Magazine and in her book Cooking for Mr Latte. It's the tomatoes that make it awesome.

INGREDIENTS
* 2 tablespoons butter , plus more for buttering dish
* 2 tablespoons flour
* 2 cups milk
* 1 1/2 cups grated monterey jack cheese
* 3 1/2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
* 1 cup canned italian tomatoes with juice , drained (reserve the juice)
* 3/4 cup coarse breadcrumbs
* ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 350, and butter a casserole dish.
2. In a saucepan, heat the two tablespoons butter until foamy. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk until it turns golden, then slowly pour in the milk, continuing to whisk.
3. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and let it thicken.
4. Stir in the cheese and remove from the heat (it should be a loose sauce). Fold in the macaroni, then add tomatoes by squeezing them between your fingers. The mixture should be loose like a thin batter; if it’s gluey or thick, add a little milk or drained tomato juice.
5. Pour into the casserole dish and spread breadcrumbs over the surface. Top with 1/4 cup cheese and ground pepper. Bake until browned on the top and bubbling, about 25 minutes.
