BAN REPORTS OF SPN_GOSSIP

Last night a thread was linked that contained a bunch of people making jokes about Jensen and Misha's similar rings.

You can see above the OP doesn't actually have any wank to report,she's just saying "this should be good."

YOu can also see people complaining that there is no wank, and that the way to get people riled up would be to go on the site, and pretend to be taking Jensen and Misha's relationship seriously.

Guess what happened at spn_gossip.

Apart from the trolls following that suggeestion, there were several anon commenters who flat out admitted they were there to troll, following the link being posted. I can find the exact quotes if the mods feel the need to look at them. And there was the "peach tree logic" anon, too. Thanks for sending that one over to us, you guys.

So a joke thread got linked on here with a suggestion that it might get wanky, and guess what? it got wanky. Because it was linked here. Wank report isn't reporting wank, it's creating it. Isn't that supposed to be against fandom wank rules?

Anyway if you read threads on here about spn_gossip you'll find it's all grudgewank anyway.

If you're not going to ban reporting of all anon communities, because I imagine there's a similar problem any time that the assholes reading here can act like assholes without a consequence, you should definitely ban reporting that one. There's wank every time it gets reported. After it gets reported.

Yes, please get the links, and then email the F_W mods with both them and your concerns.

I don't think the trolls are breaking F_W's rules (which is a serious loophole), but you're correct that F_W mods probably won't be too impressed by this. However, they have to know it's happening before they can consider doing anything, and wank_report isn't necessarily moderated very closely. Please email them.

OP of original report here, and I do apologize if my original post was against the rules. I thought if you saw something that had a real possibility of forming into wank, it was all right to drop a link or whatever, especially since I know so many people keep an eye on this place for heads-ups, so that they can watch wank unfold live. Obviously a better place for this would have been Clairvoyant Wank, but I didn't think anon posting was allowed there.

So again, I'm sorry about that and I will definitely wait until after the wank starts to report anything.

If so, you did nothing wrong. What would be wrong is if you went back and agitated to stir things up. The people who did that are being asshats.

Just reporting something, even if it hasn't blown up yet, is always allowed.

I've been reading and watching since last night, and though I've seen lots of accusations of dissenters being from here (and more recently, ONTD, since they apparently got a mention there today, too)... I haven't seen anyone say they were coming from here. I've seen people admit they were trolling, but none of the ones I've seen have admitted where they came from originally.

I know of more than one group of people that went trolling, but I also know that the ones I know of weren't from journalfen at all.

And even if I did miss one or two people saying, "Yeah, I'm here from wank_report to troll you," what can the mods do about it? No one's ever going to know who those people are, unless the mods here and the mods there are keeping track of IPs and start comparing them.

	Yeah, I know of at least one group who was... interacting with the tinhats on Spn_gossip for a while, and they weren't from here either. Are you missing all the people saying even if you could prove this - and I wish you luck proving that anyone on spn_gossip is who they say they are - it's not against the rules?

	What the mods can do about it is ban reports of spn_gossip being made here. Like the title says. Look at the last comment in this thread. "spn_gossip is always and inherently wanky." In other words, this person thinks that posting a link to any thread on spn_gossip is justified, any time. It's being reported by grudge wankers, and it leads to trolling. When it comes to spn_gossip, it's become the latter.

Perhaps to you, pointing this out is just as illogical as speculating that two guys who live together and share a mortgage might be getting it on.

But I think it's a point that needs to be made. So yeah, not going away.

The problem is it doesn't look like the majority of the trolls are coming from here. That means dealing with spn_gossip's trolls is spn_gossip's problem, not ours.

Protip? Demanding that F_W not report on a certain community is a sure-fire way to have everyone here dismiss your concerns as groundless whining on the part of a butthurt wanker.

If you're serious about this, stop investing in a discussion that only makes you look bad, and talk to the F_W mods directly.
