I'd post this under my real account but I'm way too horrified, can't do this justice, feeling way too insulted too much of a coward. But. Basically, some Bronies are creating Tulpas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulpa) for the express purpose of creating pony girlfriends. As a Buddhist I just spent the last hour pace and raving, torn between utter horror and hysterical laughter. Holy shit this is so messed up.

No, they aren't. They might think they are but tulpa-ponies don't actually exist, no matter how hard one concentrates. It's goofy and stupid and definitely appropriative of Tibetan belief but hardly warrants murder-inducing rage.

This hasn't blown up yet, but it very well could.

This has been the wank that just keeps on giving. It started last October and is still going strong, creating one of the wankiest ship wars of all time. The two ships in question? Spock/Uhura and Kirk/Spock.

HUGE wankfest going down over at Anime News Network. I'll try to keep it nice and short, but basically:

ANN post an article about how US anime licensing company Media Blasters have been listed as 'dissolved' since 2011 due to not filing their taxes (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-05-04/new-york-lists-media-blasters-as-dissolved-as-of-april-2011). Yes, you read that right, 2011. Lots of people scratch their heads in the forums wondering why MB are still alive and kicking despite that.

Someone posts an official response from MB's facebook page, and a representative of MB comes on the forums to clear things up. And by clear things up, I mean start up a flame war between the ANN staff members and themselves. Things start getting heated here (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=2109561#2109561), with arguments over who e-mailed who, "unprofessionalism" and claims of sabotage at the last Tokyo Anime Fair (!). The thread's currently at 10 pages and I think it's dying down a bit now, but still, wow.

People were giving offers of modding help (not replied to) and saying that if it had become not fun for them any more they should step down and hand the comm over to someone else- mostly not replied to.

The sherlock_rant comm quickly picked up on their martyr complex and there are many threads there about it all with some screen caps.
