Anti-MPREG post over in ffrants blew up into some deep unfunny, including transwank, fauxpologies, and a flounce from some ass (not the OP) who used scare quotes in reference to trans men.

Also, a shitload of cisplaining.

Author Paul Magrs (as in published, hired-for-money author of real books, thank you) gets the cruelest most entitled review ever written in the history of all humanity. http://unreality-sf.net/reviews/doctorwho/2/findreplace.html

Naturally, Magrs expresses outrage on Twitter. As published authors should always do. http://twitter.com/paulmagrs/status/26729418277 After all, how many books has that guy written? http://twitter.com/paulmagrs/status/26730575254 How many have YOU?

The author of review apologizes. http://brendan-moody.livejournal.com/317662.html

Too late, buddy. Magrs still has chafed butt. http://twitter.com/paulmagrs/status/27030688395 You see, Magrs loves fan dialogues with real fans, but not mean ones. Why can't you be civil like him. http://twitter.com/paulmagrs

Others weigh in.

Woman writes book to help parents keep their kids from catching teh ghey

http://www.abc4.com/content/news/state/story/Can-parents-help-shape-their-young-childrens/-UmBHU3jXEqDmfxW-me6og.cspx

Can parents help shape their young childrens sexuality?

As a mother, Graham struggled with her son’s homosexuality.
“It was a very difficult time for our family.”

Ann Riding, a mother, tells ABC 4, “I think that our world is too focused on making it acceptable for homosexuality.”

It’s the same fear leading Graham to write the book. She is hoping it helps parents steer their young children towards a life of heterosexuality.
The book has gone mainstream. Walmart is selling it in their stores in the intermountain west.

In other news, in Belgrade, Neo-Nazis broke up a gay pride march with violence just two days ago. Nobody gives a damn.

The world slips further and further back to homophobia. And nobody even cares.

[9:58:05 PM | Edited 9:59:26 PM] Kuradevoir: http://www.unowen.net/tegaki/dblog.php?u=59025&e=1263609
Tegaki E user anmorata flounces over the views of artistic nudes on the website, complaining that artistic nude is not the same thing as porn. In protest, she has deleted all of what was once several pages of some adorable art. The site does have a rule to keep things fairly work safe, though generally as long as genitalia is not in full view and there is nothing suggestive happening (and even then, it's hit or miss), it gets left alone. Comments on the thread are all in agreement, though it starts to turn to discussion of the objectifying of women in art, as boobs are the only thing okay. Because there's totally not a million and a half penises drawn all over comments on the site.
http://www.unowen.net/tegaki/index.php?mode=LCC
LCC explodes for 4 hours with posts agreeing, disagreeing, or just being silly. http://www.unowen.net/tegaki/dblog.php?u=80324&e=1263930 It eventually just devolves into posts complaining about people complaining. And then complaining about people complaining about people complaining. It's like an orouboros of wank. Really i could just let the posts speak for themselves.

To sum up: the Beeb seems to be doing away with the 12 regeneration rule. Comments are a mix of RAEG, indifference, conspiracy theories, and people insulting New Who fans.

Actually, I don't follow any Who coms that would blow up about this, so it's entirely possible that there is already epic wank out there somewhere about this.

There's some kind of ruckus going on in the ex-Quiverfull movement (Quiverfull is the super conservative, super patriarchal, populate-the-earth-with-your-fundie-babies movement that the Duggars are the most famous members of). I don't know what all is happening because I only caught a response on Razing Ruth's blog, but it seems that there has been some conflict in one of the main blogs, No Longer Quivering: a fight between the owner, Vyckie, and her daughter Angel. Apparently a lot of the drama is going down at the Free Jinger forum (http://freejinger.yuku.com), but this wanka is too harried to investigate thoroughly.

Because I don't know what the original conflict is, I don't know whether this is OTF_wank or UFB material. Or neither. But maybe some intrepid internet detective wants to check it out. It seems to involve accusations of fakery? Or something? I don't even know.

Not like that's anything new with this group... but to the point!

Quick Warning! There's a jerk by the handle of HeyThere1 that appears on about the middle of page 3 with racist ugly one-liners, posts a few times more, then vanishes. Given how few his posts are, I figured it'd be safe to post it here instead of Unfunny F_W.

The link: http://forums.wemade.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=18355&start=60

The background:

Around a month ago, the company that owns Digimon Battle Online, WeMade, instituted a Cash Shop Item Trade Ban. Special items that could only be gotten from the Cash Shop were now no longer available to trade, which closed down player markets, and generally ticked people off. Especially those who couldn't physical buy WeCash, their currency for the Cash Shop. Add in that WeMade was having issues with the third parties they use for people to buy WeCash, and you had calls for riots and marches on WeMade's headquarters. The thread were WeMade's address was posted along with a picture of their building has long since been deleted.

The Wank:

Two highly determined forum members, Mr. Hallmark and Cloud, find the number for and call WeMade headquarters -- and get a response! You see, the trade ban was all to protect us the players from those nasty scamers! Or... something like that.

Apparently a group of players were using stolen credit card numbers to rack up lots and lots of WeCash on dummy accounts, buying all the items they wanted, and then trading to goods to their main account. WeMade is apparently responsible for those transactions and were required to refund the victims in full.

But wait! Pollo696 has done some digging (as seen here: http://forums.wemade.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=18355&start=20#p244740 ) and, according to WeMade's Terms of Service, WeMade is not liable for the fraud.

Here's where the warning comes into effect, because two posts down from Pollo696's well-worded (and no that's not sarcastic) reply, HeyThere1 makes his first appearance.

Mr. Hallmark and Pollo696 debate for a bit, with Mr. Hallmark showing off his learning, followed by accusations that Mr. Hallmark certainly could not be a college student. Look at his post count! He has no life therefore cannot be in college! Highlights include PkmnTrainerRed and Green getting into a verbal fistfight. And also this guy (seen here: http://forums.wemade.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=18355&start=60#p246535) talking in pure Twitter/Text Message speak -- and getting called on it for the next five posts.

So far it hasn't devolved into a LOLCat picture war, but knowing these forums, its only a matter of time...

Secondary disclaimer: This mousey does get involved in the wank a bit in an attempt to get the topic back on track. I'm on page 10 under the handle Annaless

The current arc of the webcomic Penny and Aggie (http://www.pennyandaggie.com/) involves the apparent abduction of a student. The FBI gets involved and pulls in her classmates for questioning.

Meanwhile, the comic's forum-goers debate whether or not it's smart or stupid to talk to the police. Opinions range from "Yes" to "No" to "Hell no" to "Anyone who doesn't help the police wants the terrorists to win." But in today's thread, the argument gets uncomfortably personal. (http://www.pennyandaggie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2959&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0)

It all starts with an otherwise innocent comment from E-chan (http://www.pennyandaggie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=79949#79949):

It would be really funny in the non-haha way if someone else got snatched, simply so everyone could be reminded of the REAL reason you talk to cops and tell them everything in a case like this.

Mr. Brightside decides that this is the perfect time to preview his draft of the sequel to 1984 (http://www.pennyandaggie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=79952#79952):

No. You've as much ridiculous faith in the badge as you have in the cloak.

It's good for the police to find someone who's been kidnapped - that rare occasion is why we put up with them, after all - and it might be easier if they knew everything, but when people are too complicit in an investigation, it leaves a trail of extortion and petty arrests in its wake. That's a feature, not a bug. The police are there to arrest criminals, all criminals, and the people who protect them, and that's just about everyone. No one is perfect, legally any more than morally. Most of us put up with petty crime - not quite as extreme as bludgeoning someone into unconsciousness, but some crime - among our circle of friends, for essentially the same reason Penny's been protecting Brandi, or the OUI's friends protected him.

If you tell the police everything, especially if you're a student in a typical high school, they absolutely will arrest you, or threaten you into rolling over on someone who's not so bad. Tell the police as little as possible, keeping in mind that you don't want someone like a kidnapper to go free. It's best if you have a lawyer present.

Government in all its forms is necessary, not good. Their job isn't pleasant, and it needs to be limited by the will of the people as much as possible. They are armed, every fine and imprisonment carrying the implicit threat that if you resist long enough, sooner or later, in the most liberal country on Earth, they will kill you, at their most lenient by forcing the farmer and merchant to let you starve. You should not trust them more than you have to, and you should not divorce power from the people, constantly, quietly threatened with their peacetime and wartime armies, even as much as they can be unthinking sheep, more than is necessary to prevent the most indisputable atrocities.

The police are the enemy of your enemy at best. They are, to a lesser degree, your enemy as well. Cooperation helps only them; give them the information that guides them toward your enemy rather than yourself, and if you feel you're their most prominent enemy, even if by mistake, give them no information at all. If in doubt at all, give them as little information as possible, remembering that no kidnapper in the world has the majestic strength of even the most anemic state.

Eeriecuties.com is a comic about one of those typical schools of monsters. Vampires, catboys, you name it.

Recently, there was a plotline about a gender-changing orb. It fell into the hands of a perverted ghost posessing a doll, who started turning every boy female. The orb eventually went into overdrive, turning everything real the ghost wanted, which included turning every female into blonde, busty, stupid people. Yes, literally: One doctor got her intelligence turned down while noticing it.

The wank? One of the latest comics in this strip had a character violently state her disapproval and how she did not want it, the doll laughed at her resistance as he transformed her, and it ended with her making out with another girl. Some people objected, pointing out that this can be read as rape, and that for a comedic comic, the ghost doll character couldn't stay without serious repercussions.
http://www.pixietrixcomix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1559

The artist eventually agreed, and changed the comic by replacing the kissing panel with a panel where the girl was just turned into a dancing cheerleader. Cue massive complaints about "censorship", "losing respect for the authors for caving in", and of course "people who complained were overreacting". Needless to say that the amount of complaints about censorship vastly exceed those who originally complained about the comic in the first place.
http://www.pixietrixcomix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1565

I am not sure if it's funny or unfunny.

The forum members call shenanigans (http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=261743) because some old guard types can't find the cache at the listed coordinates. The Did-Not-Find reports in the cache logs (scroll down on the cache page) get vitriolic, requesting that the cache owner fix the problem and make the cache ratings match the hide, or put one there in the first place. More sockpuppets stick up for the original hider.

A "found" log is posted (http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?s=&showtopic=261743&view=findpost&p=4500885) on Thursday, and then all hell breaks loose. A second cache has been placed at the coordinates instead? Eventually the original hider posts pictures of the cache (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=e73e1021-4da8-4dda-a360-b6461e4d3f0f&IID=aaff5f7f-36bb-49e8-a16a-2bd5369086a8), archives it, and flounces.

Wank continues on the forums and on the log page, as members try to out the sockpuppets and diagnose fake cache locations/cache placement timelines.

French perfume-maker Jean-Paul Guerlain uses the N word on national television. Talking about how he produced one of his most successful scents, he said "For once, I worked like a nigger. I don’t know if niggers really worked that much."

Guerlain, who is a descendant of the parfumier’s founder Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain, apologised for the remarks on Saturday. The problem is a lot of french people didn't see anything wrong with what he said and they are now angry at the anti-racist groups who "pressured" Guerlain into apologizing. See the comments to these articles in the two biggest french newspapers (it's in french, sorry!)

To the unintentionally hilarious, as other commenters engage in a Very Serious and often biblical-themed version of 'my e-peen is bigger than your e-peen' around the exact meaning of the relevant passages, the accuracy of translations from the original Greek, the legitimacy of the ananlogy and whether or not the Church engaged in intellectual property enforcement using Latin as an early version of DRM locks, or whether it was just that people couldn't read.

Short (only 83 comments) but quite fun--the pinnacle is quite probably this:

"Okay, I've been polite with you up to now; but you no longer deserve that courtesy. You, sir or madam, are a troll, pure and simple; and I will treat you as such from now on.

And, by the way -- while I'm honestly speaking my mind -- your hermeneutical method is utter hogwash, clearly designed to obfuscate rather than illuminate the meaning of a text; and anyone who uses it is either a scoundrel or a fool."

Little Fandom!Secrets Transformers wank.

Anon posts this: http://i54.tinypic.com/10r2xon.gif which describes lurking tf fandom for three weeks, seeing nothing but wank, questioning whether they've been in a real fandom and saying that they can't wait for it to crash and burn in three years.

A bunch of comics are like "SNERK - We've been around for twenty years and you expect it to end in three?" and "What fandoms have you been in?" http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/571117.html?thread=358500077#t358500077

An anonymous agrees with OP and points out the comments as proof, and a user called amidoh tries to explain why people might be snide and that they really should explore more of the fandom. http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/571117.html?thread=358612973#t358612973

Anon says amidoh is a bad example, because her friends are Part Of the Problem.

ocelli comes in saying: "I'd like to think I was pretty nice. :( Guess not." Anon says s/he's a bitch.

It goes on, with ocelli wanting to know why s/he's a bitch, and anon refusing to give a straight answer. Other people and anons join in.

Meanwhile, the OP of the secret is sitting, watching and saying "I was right! Look at all the wank!" http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/571117.html?thread=358720493#t358720493

It's so hard being an "ally," internet

Straight white cis able-bodied middle-class male is totally qualified, due to his status as a "feminist" and "leftist," to tell PwD who object to "lame" as a pejorative or GLBT people who object to "gay" as a slur that they should just "let it go." Also, he's terrified that the "Social Justice police" are coming for him.

Bonus points for Cairmen [http://alasdair.livejournal.com/668136.html?thread=2769128#t2769128], who's terrified of being dogpiled for expressing his "issues with equalities." He doesn't respond when asked what these "issues" are.

Assassin's Creed Possible Kink Meme Wank
(Anonymous)
2010-10-17 07:22 pm UTC (link)
This is likely either for clairvoyant wank or, if it blossoms, to unfunny_fandom.
(It should also be noted this is linking to a kink meme, and clicking around will likely find a lot of NSFW content)

What's happening here in this mostly unremarkable kink meme, is essentially a reverse Supernatural Haiti fic, but with less buttsex and more Antisemitism.

See, it all starts off when anon here, admits a few things, posts a few news links, and ends up requesting Assassin's Creed characters as players in Fallujah.
http://forkinsocket.livejournal.com/16841.html?thread=1982921#t1982921 (warning, graphic images for some of the links in anon's post)

The other anons' responses are mixed, but mostly not in favor of the fic prompt.

Until jpeepers comes out in favor of it, and agrees to write it.

More updates might arrive as this develops. The AC fan in me is saying 'no, no' but my inner wanka says 'dis gonna be good'.

Literate Union and RB
(Anonymous)

Well... Members and Mods are leaving the sinking ship over LordKelvin and RB.

http://forum.fanfiction.net/topic/61196/17472191/3/

His Georgasaurusness still stands by LordKelvin but not RB:
"Firstly, RB is being removed from the LU. I have told LK as such and he will be saving the data he wants/needs. When that is done, the threads will be deleted, save the RB Log thread (which will be unpinned and permanently locked). As far as I'm concerned, that makes the matter over RB closed. Go find somewhere else to post your complaints. The Literate Union is not affiliated with RedBooton, regardless of whether any of my members or moderators use the programme. That's their own personal choice."
Someone please cap those Threads before it's too late.

More wank and stuff:

oh, mock the stupid
(Anonymous)

Possibly one for unfunnybusiness

mock_the_stupid (http://community.livejournal.com/mock_the_stupid/) bring some wank, and no one's surprised.

A user posts this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge9VfALthLI), of a man ramming elevator doors in his wheelchair and the doors give way and he falls through. It is a surprisingly stupid act, and thus perfect for the comm, right?

Only turns out the guy died. (http://news.asiaone.com/News/Latest%2BNews/Asia/Story/A1Story20101008-241407.html)

Comments on m_t_s range from "one less idiot in the world" to "it's very disturbing." Someone asks the mods to remove it, and a user replies with

Honestly, not trying to be a dick, but if you don't like it, don't look at it. The internet is not a place for warm and fuzzy hugs. It's not a picture outside of a cut of the man who died with gore everywhere, then I would understand you being upset.

And also, someone doesn't understand the purpose of the community is humor. (http://community.livejournal.com/mock_the_stupid/3276417.html?thread=109021825#t109021825)
