Fandom: Dragon age video game

http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/141/index/6291507/1

So the second dragon age video game is coming out, great! And with the narrative of the game, it's played as a sort of flashback as someone else is telling the story about your character, neat! Now, this person starts off the story with a widely exagerated version of the story, and you start out playing an overpowered badass person for the first few minutes of the game, nice!

A badass white person.

You see, while you can customize what your character looks like, it appears that you won't be able to do so untill after the exagerated portion of the game. Meaning that if you made a black character, for no reason, the storyteller feels that the character would be much more epic, if they were quite a few shades whiter.

Understandably, some people have issues with the implications of this.

Also understandably, lots of people tell them they're too sensative and has no bad implications whatsoever.

The thread starts out sane but quickly devolves into 'YOU'RE READING RACISM THAT ISN'T THERE'

Er, I don't know why I said 'also understandably' I meant, 'And predictably

Well, it's dragon age. I assumed the storyteller was supposed to come across as a racist prick.

Nope! He's a good guy and in fact one of the companions you pick up in the game. Also a dwarf, why should he care what color humans come in?

Wait, what? That doesn't make any sense.

But okay, these are the guys that brought us Branka, so I shouldn't be surprised about fail.

Woman in power, immediately turns into a depraved bisexual, ends up, naturally, ruining the woman she supposedly loved.

Like a true depraved bisexual.

Oh come ON. One bisexual person being a crazy weirdo doesn't mean BioWare thinks they all are. Leliana is extremely loyal, loving, and romantic -- and Zevran, who starts off SEEMING like a stereotypical sex-obsessed bisexual guy, is actually one of the most well-rounded and complex characters I've ever seen in a video game. (Apparently a lot of people write him off and never even bother getting close to him.)

If it helps, it looks like every LI in da2 is bi, and at least one has to be wholesome and not the steriotype.
