It's Tuesday, and LJ is down :( Caturday, anyone? (Okay, so I don't exactly have cats, but I have stuff) ( One Does Not... ) | | Friday, November 14th, 2008 | 8:24 pm [demonbean]

Thoughts Shameless self-promotion, sorry! Earlier today I sat through a very unhappy class - what follows is an unrepentant amount of teal deer on my part.* It rambles a bit, but I figured some of you might have had thoughts about the same things - and probably improvements! http://www.journalfen.net/users/demonbea n/165576.html#cutid1 *Okay, I'm a little ashamed ... | | Wednesday, November 12th, 2008 | 3:43 am [keleri]

IS CATURDAY OVER YET Lordy, I think this is the worst tuesday maintenance ever. I keep telling myself not to get my hopes up about playing in Northrend on thursday, but, y'know.
So while we're waiting just to play WoW (actually, it's gotten so late I might have to go to bed before the realms come back up), let alone WotLK, what are everyone's immediate plans for release day?
My server is pretty small, so I'm nursing hopes of being able to maybe do some quests, or at least run around picking up quests and flight paths. Failing that, I'd like to get my five 70's to Northrend to buy their professions skills at least. I also want to tame a Jormungar worm on my hunter; I fell in love with the furry purple monsters on the beta.
Gotta get to Dalaran and get new shirt recipes.... @_@ | | Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 | 12:00 am [iwanttobeasleep]

By far, the best guild application ever (audio=yes, sfw=yes). Shamelessly ganked from WoWInsider. | | Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 | 11:55 am [iwanttobeasleep]

Hello fellow WoWankas! In case you're only watching it on iTunes, the new Blizzcast is up. I haven't listened to the whole thing but it's pretty incredible, and definitely worth it to hop to 12:36 to hear the WIP of the new opening theme. Is anyone else planning on going to Blizzcon? I'm refreshing the page to buy tickets. . . | | Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 | 8:11 pm [the__ivorytower]

I'm not sure how to react to this one... New rule on the LJ community wow_ladies, that will relate directly to this one: From this point forward, lifting posts, in whole or in part, to be posted to drama and/or snark communities for the purpose of mocking [info]wow_ladies members will not be tolerated. The maintainers believe that doing so sabotages the community feeling that seems to come naturally to [info]wow_ladies, and we would therefore appreciate it if, you know, you didn't. This change will be reflected in the userinfo and of course, like all new rules, will not be retroactive (that wouldn't be fair). From here. I... don't know what to say to this, other than the old stand-by: please, no wow_ladies bashing. Kinda a shame, they open themselves up to so much mocking sometimes, but it's always really unfunny. | | Sunday, July 27th, 2008 | 10:44 pm [undomielregina]

Guilds So, I'm in the market for a new guild. There's nothing wrong, exactly, with my current one, but I've been in the guild for months and have come to notice that there's a sense that if you haven't been there since they raided BWL, you don't count. I'm not alone in this sense -- my boyfriend and his brother are also hideously frustrated by the current policies. So I'm looking for something different. Anyone know a good guild horde-side on a pve realm -- hopefully one looking for a raiding tank? I'd really appreciate having a guild master who didn't believe "ladies" are too delicate to listen to swearing. (btw, this is my girl) | | Thursday, July 17th, 2008 | 1:36 am [pyratejenni]

Baby's First Kara So I'm on my mage, and the GM whispers me on his rogue alt: "Are you saved to Kara?"
Me: "No..." My guid has it on farm, and I've been gearing up for a slot.
Him: "Want to run it tonight!"
Me: "Sure!" So I got my Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders gemmed, cooked some fish (that no one wanted -- woefuls) and read up on Kara.
The Dice Gods must have smiled on me after all the instances that dropped mail and plate only, because I got 6 purples -- including upgrading one epic belt with another.
Can't wait for Gruul's on Monday! XD

What to do with fireworks? Sorry for dragging this poor comm back from the dead, but I find myself requiring suggestions from fellow players, and this is probably the nicest and least wanky place to come ask. ^^ I'm trying to think of an event for my casual/social guildmates.
My main blood elf tankadin has a bank bag absolutely full of fireworks left over from the Lunar Festival. As an engineer, he also can make the firework launchers, so I can pretty much throw a firework party anywhere. I've always wanted to launch fireworks from the top of a Zangarmarsh mushroom while putting out a Romantic Picnic Basket, the new Brazier, and just generally have a party for my guildees. The problem is that, as fun as that might be, there's not much incentive for people to come out and do it. It's not like I could suggest it as a fun time to hang out and chat, we do that in guild chat all the time anyway. ;-)
Thus, I'm trying to get feedback and think of an actual *event* to put on along with these fireworks, either involving the fireworks themselves somehow or just having them in the background while we do... something else. XD In other words, what the heck should I do with them, or arrange to go along with them? So far, the only ideas I've come up with are these: 1) Have a "fashion show" where everyone comes out in their favorite vanity sets/clothing/tabards and the best entrant gets a Mechanical Squirrel or something; the fireworks could be for fun/show.
2) Set up a raid of an alli town and have everyone congregate on the firework launchers; several PvP fans in the guild have suggested this.
3) Save them for something major like, say, downing Zul'jin for the first time and set them off on his corpse. Downside to this is that I have to carry around fireworks instead of my healing set. ;-)
4) Play "Hide and Seek" with me hiding somewhere, setting off fireworks, and people have to come find me. Of course, the fact they can see which zone I'm in would make that sort of silly... >.>
Would anyone else be able to give me any ideas? I'm on a regular PvE server (no RP sadly) but PvP is an option. I'd love to hear what wankas would suggest... Please help, as the fireworks are burning a hole in my bank and I need more bank/bag space for Yet Another Tanking Set. ;-)

Uwe Boll: SHOT DOWNApparently, the folks over at Blizzard wonder the same thing, since they practically laughed Boll out of their offices when he approached them about making a World of Warcraft adaptation, the director confessed.
“I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, ‘We will not sell the movie rights, not to you…especially not to you,’” Boll revealed. “Because it’s such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it.” | | Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 | 2:39 pm [pyratejenni]

It's Patch Day! Time to see if the rumored hunter and rogue nerfs pan out, and who puts Stupid As Fuck!Kael'thas out of his misery (again) first. | | Sunday, March 16th, 2008 | 12:59 am [iwanttobeasleep]

This poor, neglected community. . .
Where do you guys go for your WoW news/discussion? I like LJ comms but I can't stand the management at WoW_ladies and worldofwarcraft has just enough sexist, homophobic elitist assholes that I don't want it on my flist.
While we're here, how are everyone's characters? My main (Milliardo the healadin) is almost all Kara loot and getting ready to, er, heal the people who will beat up Gruul, and my alt is 4 levels from shadow form.
And, lastly. . .The best thing about the movie Jumper? Samuel L. Jackson is a paladin! I spent the whole time geeking, going "Mages! Paladins!" | | Sunday, February 10th, 2008 | 8:45 pm [demonbean]

Damn it, servers! All of the Reckoning battlegroup servers are down. Anyone else stuck offline?

The very early morning of my first day of classes my guild downed Netherspite for the first time. My kill picture was ruined by our hunter's pet, though. But for what you can't see, I got everyone in the raid nekkid except for their tabards, it was awesome. But how am I supposed to sleep now? | | Friday, January 18th, 2008 | 9:58 pm [iwanttobeasleep]

I had the most awesome BG today. My belf paladin is named Milliardo, after a character in Gundam Wing (although I didn't go for the hair that matches his). Today Milliardo did yesterday's daily BG in Alterac Valley, and we ran into a Heero! Also a belf and a paladin. So I followed him around and healed him, and then we won. | 1:49 am [pyratejenni]
