» I have a LiveJournal password - why can't I log in to JournalFen? Because JournalFen isn't LiveJournal, nor is it affiliated with LiveJournal in any way. JF uses the free LJ source code. And no, that's not a TOSable offense over at LJ, no matter how much you may want it to be. For information on JF accounts, see http://www.journalfen.net/support/faqbr Last Updated: » Why are my journal entries showing an incorrect date/time? If the date or time of an entry is showing up incorrectly, this just means that the clock on your computer is now, or was at some time, set to the wrong date or time. This could affect all posts made after the incorrect post. First, make sure that the date, time, and time zone are all now set correctly on your computer. Then edit the date and time of the entries that are incorrect by doing the following: USING THE WEB INTERFACE: Go to http://www.JournalFen.net/editjournal.b USING A DOWNLOADED CLIENT: Many clients available for download include the ability to edit previous journal entries. For more information on your preferred client, consult its documentation or its menu options. See http://www.JournalFen.net/support/faqbr ANOTHER POSSIBLE REASON: If you'be had the same browser window open for a long amount of time and you're getting the wrong time, try opening a new browser window. Last Updated: » Why are there errors when I try to validate my email address? "Error One or more errors occured processing your request. Please go back, correct the necessary information, and submit your data again. You cannot go to this page directly, you must have a registration URL to complete this registration." * This notice appears if you do not have the complete URL in the location or address bar of your browser. The URL that JournalFen sends will look something like this (this is an example, and will return a result you can't use): http://www.JournalFen.net/confirm/50128 If you are getting an error when you try to validate, try copy/pasting or typing the confirmation URL into your browser's address/location bar. Validation URLs expire if they are not used within one week of them being sent. If it has been over one week since the confirmation e-mail was sent to you, or if you are having problems receiving the validation e-mail, please see http://www.JournalFen.net/support/faqbr Last Updated: » Why does my journal or Friends page suddenly display incorrectly or require me to scroll? Problems displaying your journal or Friends page usually result from one of two main problems. First, you or someone on your Friends list may have posted a large image, long string of text, or a poll with a large text entry box. All of these things can cause the width of the page to be larger than your screen, so that you have to scroll horizontally to see all of it. Second, you or someone on your Friends list may have posted HTML that is incorrectly written. A quiz or other external content that is pasted in to a journal entry is the most common cause of this problem. This frequently affects journal layout severely and may cause other entries (especially those following the entry containing incorrect HTML) not to display at all. To avoid these issues: * Use the tag when posting large images, long strings of text, or external content like quizzes. See http://www.JournalFen.net/support/faqbr * Occasionally enter a space in any long strings of text. * Shorten long text. * Limit the size of any picture posted in an entry. * Limit your poll's text entry boxes to a smaller size. You will still be able to enter the same amount of text in a smaller box; the amount of text entered is controlled by the "maxlength" property of the text box, which can be up to 255 characters. If the entry is yours, you can edit it by following the instructions given at http://www.JournalFen.net/support/faqbr If the entry is on your Friends page, you could ask the person who posted it to change the entry by editing it, adding an tag, or removing it altogether (for information on entry deletion, see http://www.JournalFen.net/support/faqbr Alternatively, you can can create a custom Friends group (http://www.JournalFen.net/support/faqb Last Updated: » Why can't I change my viewing options/navigation bar like I can on LiveJournal? Because you touch yourself at night. On the off chance you don't touch yourself at night, it's because JournalFen doesn't offer those particular options, though it may in the future.
